Karen Humphrey
Karen Humphrey is the artistic director of Dance Inspirations Inc. in Vulcan Alberta. Karen has a broad background in dance and is well versed in all dance disciplines. The bulk of Karen's training was done in Calgary but she continues to take workshops in order to remain currant with new innovations in the dance world. Karen is a diversely talented teacher and over her 20 year career, her inventive choreography has won many prestigious awards and scholarships. Several of her former students are thriving in the professional dance world.
Karen has had the opportunity to travel around the world with various performing groups. Highlights include Disneyland in Tokyo, France and twice in Anaheim. Karen was involved in many Stampede parades as well as performing at various stages during The Calgary Exhibition and Stampede. Karen worked with many well known choreographers while working as a dancer for Princess Cruise Lines. During her contract she had the opportunity to be a performer for the launch of the Gene Anthony Rae Show. Gene was most famous for his role as "Leroy" in the original Film and T.V. series FAME. Performing with such a well know actor/dancer was like a dream come true! Another outstanding performance opportunity was cheering for the Calgary Stampeders as an Outrider. The exhilaration of performing in front of such a large crowd is an experience that will not be duplicated.
Karen and is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her knowledge with with students here at the Parkland Dance Festival.
